I am a physio working with runners and am wondering how runners in Australia rate the Adidas Supernova Glide as a running shoe? In particular, whether people think it has been a factor in their lower limb injuries?

My gf wore then but it stuffed her plantar fascia up. Might not be the shoes fault but she won't wear them again

I run over 100km a week in supernova glides and find they have the right amount of cushioning and responsivness. I have worn many other shoes before and they have not held up to the mileage that the supernova glides do. I have not had any injuries with the shoes, however I think it is pretty unlikely in any case that shoes can be the sole cause of an injury anyway. Many other factors contribute so even if they are don't suit a particular runner they are unlikely to be the only reason for it. I know footwear is an easy target to blame but i know personally if I have been injured it usually corresponds with an increase of mileage, intensity, racing or a rapid change in surfaces. Or because i have missed my weekly massage :)

I switched to the adidas Supernova Glide early this year and have never looked back. I agree with the previous comment around running shoes and their inability to be 100% of the problem. Being a health professional myself, i have referred numerous patients into this shoe with fanstastic results. The flexibility, lightweight feel and cushioning make it my shoe of choice for orthotic prescription when i need a neutral platform.

Thanks for the answers people. I would never suggest that footwear would be the main cause of injury either. Its just one of the extrinsic risk factors, although small, you need to consider. It has also been a small pattern of injury with this shoe and the athletes I have been treating so just wanted to see if there was others elsewhere.

Thanks again everyone
