Tonight I ran my third 400 of the season - 51.92.

I also ran my second 100 of the season a little later on -11.77.

This 400 u/23 Nationals qualifier (49.64) is feeling a little out of reach at the moment. I'll keep training hard and see what the remainder of the season brings.

Bone: if you keep being consistent with your times and get another 400 on the board then i dont see why you wouldnt get a gig in some of the gp's
i see that you are ranked no.2 for the season
that has to count for something surely.
going on your 200m speed then its definitely possible to run a 45 just need to put the work in.

Scott: its good to read that your out there having a go. its another run on the board and with it brings more experience running the 400 dont sell yourself short you have to believe that you can run that time and be confident about it otherwise you wont run it cause you have already convinced yourself that your not capable

yea, ill definitly be putting my name out there for a gig at the Gp's.

I've heard AA are bringing out some international 400m runners.
David Neville has been thrown out there. Bronze from Beijing, should be awesome.

yea not the best advertisement for him to try n draw a crowd to athletics. But i can't see any really big names coming out to Aus this season.

Usually we already know if they're locked in by this time of year

Matty, how soon do you find out if there is a spot at either of these meets for you? Are you running on Saturday?

i've entered for both so time will tell.

I also entered for brisbane and got in but i wont be ready in time to give ti a real crack so ill have to leave that one alone. Plus i would have to pay my own way up there and i can't afford that hahah.

Cheaper to run in newcastle if i was ready.
