Hey Guys, I train for middle distance however cross training I believe is an area that all runners should do however avoid.
This can include, an array of activities and exercises...
The usual being Swimming, water running, palates, yoga, gym

My question is if anyone knows of a good place to do Yoga to add to their training program. I live in Camberwell but happy to travel to any decent studio in Melbourne. Yes I know I can search the internet however there is many styles of Yoga and a large selection of studios and hope that others experience can help me narrow down to a select few

Also if anyone has any other cross training activities of exercises they feel is great cross training please feel free to add.
cheers

If you want acclimatise before doing a marathon in a really hot and humid place, I suggest bikram yoga! I did it once, sweated so much! Mainly just to improve flexibility though.

Elliptical trainers can be good if used correctly. Probably better for those who are coming back from injury, a bit more running specific than using say a bike or swimming. But used incorrectly or too much may put strain through lower back as its a really unnatural action.
Deep water running is really good but so awkward and boring. Id say if youre already doing resistance training then give pilates reformers or floor sessions a go, more core specific and you will still get the flexibility improvements that yoga can give.
